Confirmation...

If I didn't know it before, I know it now.

Let me set the scene for you:

The last several weeks (yea, even months) I have been dreading this coming Saturday.  You see, I am about to turn forty.  I will admit I am not handling it well.

I thought I was handling it well at school and just breaking down (completely) at home but apparently not.

A few minutes ago I received a call from my principal's assistant.  She called to tell me that he contacted her to have her get in touch with  me so that I could contact him.  (Awkward sentence, anyone?)  I asked her if she knew what he wanted and she said he just told her that he wanted me to call him.

So.....my stomach was a little nervous but I called.  Turns out, he just wanted to make sure that I was ok because he thought I looked a little off this week.  He asked if it was because of my birthday (he knows it is my birthday because his birthday is the same day.  Birthday twins!).  I told him that was pretty much it and we talked for about ten minutes.

I thought it was really nice for him to call to check on me and I told him so.

So that confirms it.

I have the best principal in the world.

Annnnnddddd......I am again ETERNALLY glad that I am no longer in that job!

:)

  1. Ya know BFF, I have not been handling this stinking 40 issue very well either.
But, I have been thinking hard on some things and have decided...screw it...BRING IT ON...this is going to be a new chapter, well maybe new book, in my life. I have made it this far and life has not turned out exactally the way I wanted it to, but I have had a great life thus far. I have people that I love and who love me, family and friends, especially you BFF. I have been soooo blessed. I know that things are not exactally the way that you want them either, and we are praying that certain things change sooooon! :o)
I went to a concert last friday and Dara MacClean was there (Christian artist). She has a song 'Suitcases' it states that you can't run with suitcases weighing you down. That is sooooo true! Also she sang a song 'Free' (love that groovy song)it's about being set free. I am (starting to at least) looking at this 40 thing with those two things in mind. N-O-T letting the barely bareable weight of the suitcases that I have been trying to lug along drop and being set free. Not only with God but in all aspects of my life. Stepping out of that tiny little box that I have put around myself and my world and taking some steps on uncharted ground.
Take a peek/listen at the songs, pray, and give some deep thought.
Love ya girl! I miss you sooooooooooooooooo much!!!!!!
HERES TO US AS WE CELEBRATE 40 GREAT YEARS (20 of which we have been BFFs!)
